After a frustrating three weeks of back and forth between insurance and doctor offices, we got good news. Insurance would pay for a PET Scan. If they wouldn’t have, the Oncologist wanted to put Don on another round of chemo, this time via IV. It would have really taken a toll on his body. But, the PET Scan showed no new growth of his tumor. We were so excited that he didn’t require the additional chemo!
Each day is a struggle. The chemo he is on now (5 days on, 25 days off), robs him of energy. Usually, we can get extra sleep, or workout and give ourselves more energy. With chemo there isn’t anything you can do to get more energy. It just takes time, and about the time he starts feeling more energetic, it will be time for the next round. It’s a vicious, but needed cycle.
Our house sold and we bought a new house. We will be moving very soon. I’m excited to move into a smaller home. Everything we need will be on one level. It is also maintenance provided, so this will help us out immensely. Our life is much quieter than it used to be, and that is ok. It gives us the opportunity to just be together, living each day.
